In-house Aluminium CNC Machining & Fabrication
Simmal is the only UK aluminium stockholder with in-house Aluminium CNC machining and aluminium fabrication facilities. In response to the needs of our customers’ needs, Simmal now has a comprehensive array of CNC machines at our second site in Preston.
Aluminium CNC Machining
We can offer both 5-axis and 4-axis CNC aluminium machining allowing us to machine small, short components as well as longer, much larger long-length parts. We can manufacture parts up to 8m at an accuracy of ±0.01mm.Precision Cutting
With our PLC controlled automatic saws, we can cut extrusion in lengths from 5mm to 8000mm to accuracies greater than ±0.04mm.Inspection & Metrology
It is true that “you can only make as well as you can measure.”
Simmal has invested heavily over the last 2 years in online CNC part probing and portable CMM inspection arms. Now we can guarantee that the parts manufactured at Simmal meet the customers drawing and specification to ±0.01mm.
The data reports from all our measuring equipment are included as part of our customers’ ISIR and PPAP documentation.
Build-To-Print Manufacturing
Once our engineers have finished working with our customers to develop their extruded components then all production parts and components, produced at Simmal, will be manufactured in accordance to our customer’s final drawing.
Our years of experience has led us to develop robust and intuitive systems to deal with a large number of parts destined to many different market segments to ensure consistent quality as expected from an ISO9001:2010 manufacturer.
Material Traceability
Simmal can ensure that all components are fully traceable from billet/plate cast to delivered packaged goods, a pre-requisite for our Nuclear, Automotive and Rail industry approvals.
A recent investment means that we can now offer customers unique part numbers (serial batch numbers, and part IDs and logo) either dot peened or laser etched onto individual parts.
